Assistant Controller

Seeking a skilled Assistant Controller for a leading company in the manufacturing space. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional with a strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, and process improvement. The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Controller and executive leadership to oversee financial operations, ensure compliance, and support strategic financial planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in overseeing all accounting operations, including A/R, A/P, payroll, and general ledger functions.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to drive business decisions.
• Develop and implement internal controls to improve financial processes and mitigate risk.
• Oversee tax compliance, audit preparations, and regulatory reporting.
• Collaborate with department heads to optimize financial performance and cost management.
• Assist in system implementations and process improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to accounting staff.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or CMA preferred
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, construction, or housing.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems and accounting software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
