Heavy Civil Construction Superintendent

Seeking a Heavy Civil Construction Superintendent for a successful commercial construction company based in Ridgeland. This individual specializing in dirt, road, sewer, water, and storm drain work is entrusted with overseeing and managing multiple construction projects within these specific domains. This role prioritizes safety, quality, and efficiency while exhibiting strong leadership to guide project foremen and ensure optimal project outcomes. The ideal candidate possesses in-depth knowledge and experience in all facets of heavy civil construction work and excels in interpreting and implementing construction plans. This superintendent will lead by example, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

1.      Manage and oversee construction projects ensuring adherence to safety standards, quality control, and project timelines.

2.      Demonstrate expertise in grading, road construction, sewer, water, storm drainage infrastructure installation, and subdivision development, providing guidance and direction to project teams.

3.      Interpret and implement construction plans and specifications accurately, ensuring alignment with project objectives and regulatory requirements.

4.      Lead and motivate project teams, including foremen, operators, and laborers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

5.      Collaborate closely with project managers to develop and execute project schedules, coordinate material procurement, and address any project-related issues or challenges.

6.      Provide mentorship and support for the professional development of team members, facilitating training opportunities and sharing best practices.

7.      Assist in field layout and surveying activities as needed, ensuring precision and accuracy in construction work.

8.      Maintain a strong emphasis on safety, enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular site inspections, and promoting a culture of safety awareness and compliance.

Qualifications:

1.      Minimum of 10 years of experience in heavy civil construction superintendent roles.

2.      Proficiency in interpreting and implementing construction plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.

3.      Exceptional leadership and management skills, with a track record of effectively leading and motivating project teams to achieve project objectives.

4.      Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to facilitate effective collaboration with project teams, stakeholders, and clients.

5.      Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of quality, efficiency, and attention to detail.

6.      Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment.

7.      Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed in the Hinds, Madison, Rankin county areas of Mississippi.

8.      Drug test and background check will be required prior to start of employment.
