Physician Assistant

Seeking a Physician Assistant to join a premier orthopedic practice based in Oxford and Tupelo. This individual will work alongside an orthopedic surgeon, providing both surgical first assist and comprehensive pre and post operative patient care. The ideal candidate will have a passion for orthopedics, strong surgical skills, and the ability to deliver exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. This role includes working part-time in Tupelo and part-time in Oxford, with a car stipend provided. Responsibilities:

• Serve as a First Assist in orthopedic surgical procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
• Perform pre-operative assessments, including patient evaluations and risk assessments.
• Assist in post-operative care, including wound management, pain management, and follow-up evaluations.
• Conduct patient consultations, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans in collaboration with the orthopedic surgeon.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including imaging and laboratory studies.
• Educate patients and families on post-surgical recovery, rehabilitation, and ongoing care.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Work closely with the surgical and clinical team to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.

Requirements:

• Master of Science in Nursing or equivalent PA program degree
• Current valid Mississippi medical license
• 1+ years’ experience preferred in Orthopedics or Urgent Care
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
• Ability to work with others and demonstrate leadership qualities
