Seeking a Senior Accountant to join an accounting team for a corporation in Madison, MS. This position will play a key role in managing the company’s success by overseeing daily cash and credit card operations, providing audit support, maintaining fixed asset records, and contributing to month-end financial close activities.

  • Assists the Director of Finance and Accounting with ensuring that the Company's accounting policies, systems and processes are in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Manages daily cash postings and credit cards.
  • Fixed Asset Management - Ensures accurate record keeping and depreciation postings.
  • Prepares interim consolidated financial statements as required.
  • Performs ongoing general ledger maintenance for month-end close.
  • Supports the annual financial audit and annual tax return preparation process preparing requested information.
  • Prepares customer billing.
  • Supports acquisition and/or major transaction accounting requirements.
  • Performs research of accounting treatment of transactions.
  • Prepares information in support of quarterly Board of Directors meetings.
  • Prepares, reconciles and maintains subsidiary ledgers.
  • Reviews, analyzes and reconciles accounting transactions.
  • Prepares annual property tax returns.
  • Prepares supporting data for annual System for Award Management (SAM) reporting.
  • Supports month-end and year-end closing of the books.
  • Performs accounts receivable collections.
  • Prepares numerous ad hoc reports and performs other tasks as requested in support of the Director of Finance and Accounting.
  • Records recurring accounting transactions in the general ledger
  • All other duties as requested.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks.
  • Federal government contracting experience preferred.
  • DCAA Compliance experience a plus.
  • Experience with working with multiple legal entities preferred.
  • Solid working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Organized, detail-oriented and accurate.
Salary: $100k-$125k
