Staff Accountant
Seeking a skilled Staff Accountant for a waste management company in Oxford. This individual will play a crucial role in supporting the finance department by managing various accounting functions related to the operations. The Ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a growing company.
Key Responsibility:
- Perform day-to-day accounting tasks, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports to provide insights into business performance and trends.
- Monitor and reconcile intercompany transactions between different business units within the organization.
- Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process by providing accurate and timely financial data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with internal controls and financial regulations.
- Assist in the coordination of audits conducted by external auditors and regulatory agencies.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline accounting procedures and enhance efficiency.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation for audit trail purposes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- 3+ Years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP and Microsoft Excel)
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Adaptability to change and an eagerness to grow.
